Are rebates still available for a Hot Water Heat Pumps?

Stiebel Eltron have been developing heat pumps since 1974 and have focussed on the development of hot water heating technology that can utilise renewable energy to produce hot water.  The Federal Government currently offer a rebate to help eligible home-owners, landlords or tenants to replace electric storage hot water systems with solar or heat pump hot water systems under the Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme (REBS).

Rebates help to reduce the initial cost for a water heating system that will save on energy use throughout its life when compared to an electric hot water storage unit. When you start using a more energy efficient hot water system such as a heat pump or solar hot water system, you will immediately notice a change for the better in your electricity consumption.

With the REBS Federal Government rebate, it is possible to receive a rebate as high as $600 for the purchase and installation of a hot water heat pump (subject to eligibility requirements).  Please note that changes have been made regarding eligibility for the REBS rebate regarding the amount of STCs (Small Scale Technology Certificates) that your hot water system must generate at the time of purchase.
