Frequently Asked Questions

(Q 1 )
I have an old 3 phase instantaneous hot water system, will the SimpleX replace this?

Your electrician can advise what size the fuses are for your existing hot water unit, this will confirm the appropriate replacement model.  The SimpleX is 20 Amps per phase.

(Q 2 )
My SimpleX unit is fluctuating hot and cold in the shower, is it faulty?

Normally this only occurs with when a water saving shower has been installed. The restrictor in the shower causes back pressure on the unit causing it to switch on and off. Removal of the shower restrictor normally fixes this issue, the SimpleX unit has a built in restrictor that acts as a water saving device.

(Q 3 )
Can the SimpleX water heater be installed in new applications/buildings?

The SimpleX hot water system is hydraulically controlled and as such you may have fluctuation issues if installed in conjunction with water saving tapware and shower roses.

We recommend the use of an electronically controlled system such as the DHE, DHB-E or DEL 3 phase instantaneous water heaters for new applications and buildings.
