Frequently Asked Questions

(Q1)
I have an old 3 phase instantaneous hot water system, will the SimpleX replace this?

The Simplex will replace any existing 3 phase 18amp unit in the market. Your electrician can advise what size the fuses are for your current unit (normally 20amps per phase) to ensure the SimpleX will be a direct replacement.

(Q2)
My SimpleX unit is fluctuating hot and cold in the shower, is it faulty?

Normally this only occurs with when a water saving shower has been installed. The restrictor in the shower causes back pressure on the unit causing it to switch on and off. Removal of the shower restrictor normally fixes this issue, the SimpleX unit has a built in restrictor that acts as a water saving device.

(Q3)
Can I install the SimpleX model in new apartment applications?

We recommend to use either the DHE, DHB-E or DEL for new applications. As the SimpleX unit is hydraulically controlled, you may have fluctuation issues if installed in conjunction with water saving tapware and showers. Please contact us for further assistance on 1800 153 351.
