| Do I need to have a safe tray under the water heater? |
| No, according to AS3500.4.2. Instant water heaters and open vented water heaters with a volume less than 13 litres need no safe tray.

| Do I need to allow for ventilation or flueing? |
| No, as the water heaters are electric they dissipate no heat or fumes, all the energy ends up in the water.

| Do I need to allow for a drain on the water heater? |
| No the water heaters have a cold in pipe, and a hot out pipe. No requirement for a drain exists.

| Can I plug the water heater into a power point? |
|
No this is a three phase machine
and needs to be hard wired.

| How much hot water can be delivered? |
|
The water heater is instantaneous and is creating the
hot water as you are using it, the machine will provide an endless amount of
hot water.

| What temperature can the water heater deliver? |
| The machine can be set to deliver water anywhere between 20 and 60 degrees.

| What do the numbers 1-7 represent on the front? |
| They are an indication to temperature, 1 representing 30 degrees and 7 representing 60 degrees, these are indicative only.

| Can I send pre-heated water into the water heater? |
| No, the maximum temperature of the incoming water must be no hotter than 30 degrees.

| What type of heating element is used in the water heater? |
| A bare wire element is used in the DHB-E and the DHE models, this is ideal for temperature control, and the most efficient type of heating element as it is immersed directly in the water. It is also ideal for areas where the water quality is not perfect as it does not allow scale to build up on the element.

| Can I install the unit on its side? |
| No, the DHF model must be installed vertically, as it incorporates mechanical switches.

| Do low flow showers work with the DHF? |
| No, the DHF is predominantly sold as replacement water heater, and the technology used in the water heater requires an unimpeded flow rate.

| Can anyone install a DHF water heater? |
| No all the water heaters in the Stiebel Eltron range should be installed by a licensed professional.

| Is the DHC able to be plugged into a power point? |
|
No although single phase the DHC range need to be hard wire, and on a dedicated electrical circuit.

| Can this unit supply a whole house with hot water? |
| No, the DHC is at the smaller end of the instant water heater range. It is best suited to supply smaller hot water loads, where infrequent use or an isolated situation exists

| Can the DHC be installed horizontally? |
| No, as it has mechanical switches the unit must at all times be installed vertically.

| Do I need to use your special tap? |
| Yes, as the unit is a non-pressurized water heater or a push through type. It requires that the tap vent the cylinder. This is done when our tap is used in the installation.

| Does this water heater plug into a power point? |
| Yes this water heater comes with a lead and a three pin plug attached which can be plugged into a standard power point.

| What is the difference between the 5 and 10 models? |
|
This is the number of litres in the container, the SN range are not instant water heaters they are small storage water heaters. If the 5 or 10 litres is exhausted the unit will recover at approximately 1 litre per minute.

| Can I use the SN range to serve 2 separate sinks next to each other? |
| No, the SN range of water heaters are single point of use. This means that one tap; one water heater feeds one sink.

| Can I serve a basin with the SN range? |
| No, the SN ranges are sink heaters and store water at 60 degrees, preventing their use at places of personal hygiene.
